The Meaning of Islam

Islam is an Arabic word that the submission, devotion and obedience means. Islam as a religion stands for complete submission and obedience to Allah - that is why it is called Islam. Another literal meaning of "Islam" is "peace." This means that we achieve real peace of body and mind only through submission and obedience to Allah. Such a life of obedience brings peace of heart and creates real peace in society in general.

Those who believe and whose hearts find solace in the remembrance of Allah, he is in the remembrance of Allah alone, will trade the heart of man to rest, upright, and who believe, joy is for them and happy to return to homes. (13: 28-29)
This message came from all the prophets of Allah preached the man out on the right path. But man not only from the right path again and again, turned also go lost or distorted code of guidelines, that the prophet had donated. were sent this reason other prophets to the original message and bring people back out to reaffirm. The last of these prophets was Muhammad, the guidance from Allah in its final form and ready to him to preserve for all time. It is this approach that is now known as Islam and the Koran and anchored the life example (Sunnah) of the Prophet.

The Islamic concept of thumb is that the universe was created by Allah, Islam calls Allah, the Lord and Sovereign of the universe, supported themselves. He created man and put for each person a fixed period of life is to happen on Earth. Allah has prescribed a certain code for life is good for humanity, but at the same time given man the choice of whether to adopt the code as the basis of his life. Anyone who chooses to follow the code of Allah is a Muslim (believer) and one who refuses to follow, it will be a kafir (unbeliever).

A man enters the fold of Islam by honestly believe and profess their faith in the oneness of Allah and the Prophet Muhammad hood. These two beliefs are in Kalimah (Article of Faith):

La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah. (There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet.)

The first part of the Kalimah introduces the concept of Tawhid (Oneness of Allah) and the second part confirms the Prophet Muhammad hood.
